Meet Shana Coker

Find a connection, find freedom in movement and you will find peace.

Heyyyy, Iā€™m Shana.

Bodies in motion stay in motion. The trick is continuing to find ways of moving that bring you joy.

Over my 35-year career teaching group fitness (first IDEA certification in 1995) there has been Jane Fonda, high/low impact aerobics, step aerobics, slide boards, interval classes, butts and guts, cycling, yoga, barre, Pilates, hip hop, Zumba, water aerobics, kettlebells, strength and conditioning and all kinds of things in-between.  We get bored, our bodies get injured and change over time but if we open ourselves to trying new things, we can find new ways forward. Some stick with us forever and some come and go quickly but they all (mostly) have value in opportunity for challenge and expression.

Flexibility and strength are keys to aging well and still being physically able to do all the activities that we enjoy.  I got my 200-hour Yoga certification in 2010 and since then have been able to incorporate that philosophy and training throughout much of my life.

Personally, I love to find a friend, or two, and find something fun to do together like running, skiing, biking, walking dogs, taking a class or hitting the gym.  Find a connection, find freedom in movement and you will find peace.
